Sturmundrang#2
The Sturmundrang series embraces expression of radical degrees in sound art and its subjectivity to times of turbulence. Extremes in sound practice will be showcased across five events, focusing on interpolarities of various concepts, and the contradictory function thereof.
The second event on the 23rd of June will showcase works of performative vigor in sound. Featuring three artists and their approach to deconstruction, reconstruction and dynamic intensity in the context of performance.

Alejandra Cardenas (aka Ale Hop, b. Lima, Peru) is a Berlin-based artist, researcher, and experimental instrumentalist from Peru. She composes electronic and electroacoustic music, by blending strains of noise, pop, avant-garde, ambient and a complex repertoire of extended techniques for electric guitar and real-time sampling devices which she uses as her sound vocabulary to craft a performance of astonishing physical intensity, saturated of layers of distortion and stunning atmospheres.
She obtained her BA in Art History from the National University of San Marcos, Lima, an MA in Sound Studies from Berlin University of the Arts, Germany, and did further postgraduate studies in History and Culture of Science and Technology at the Technical University of Berlin.
Her solo career began when she won the Red Bull Music Academy residency in 2012 and made her first live performance in Boiler Room. Since then she has been featured in music media such as Pitchfork, WIRE, VICE, Noisey, Bandcamp, Tiny Mix Tapes, and presented her work in festivals like MUTEK, CTM Festival, Heroines of Sound and NRMAL.

Angelo Harmsworth is a musician & sound artist from New Mexico, USA. His work tends to fluctuate between austerity & decadence, and is continually underpinned by a desire to engage sounds visceral materiality & affective force. He has been published through a network of experimental outlets in addition to his own imprint Lime Lodge.

Menghan Wang is a Beijing-born Berlin-based artist, experimental musician, and a graduating student from Sound Studies and Sonic Arts in Universität der Künste Berlin. Her interdisciplinary practices include music, performance, photography, videography, and installation.
Menghan's sound performances explore both the power and the limitation of technology and spatial condition, as she works with and works against them. Her recent performances include online audiovisual live performance Inverse (2020) at SoundsAbout Gallery, and multimedia live performance Now is the Place, Here is the Time (2021) at Climate Care Festival, Floating University.
